About

kevin and debraKevin and Debra
This is our story- a new chapter in our lives.

We are two middle aged people who are enjoying a new chapter in our lives. We will share our adventures on the ranch homestead, our family and Debra’s love for photography & scrapbooking.

We have been married since 1986; have two adult children, a son-in-law and two adorable granddaughters. Kevin grew up in the countryside and me, I was the city girl. For the first couple of years of our marriage, we lived in the city. Kevin was ready to move back to country living. Eventually we bought a home on 15 acres; lived there for 25 years. Kevin was happier; we had land to have a few pigs, a pond to fish, and even a few heads of cattle. We raised our children and had a good time in that old house. Kevin decided to branch out and increase his cattle count which meant he needed more land.

Kevin leased some land from an older couple. During the winter, the couple would go South. Since Kevin was at the farm daily checking on the cattle, he would also check on the house, bring in the mail and such. One winter, they called and said they found a house and wanted us to know they would be selling their home and land. This is where our story begins.

Thanks for stopping by to visit. It will be a pleasure getting to know you!

The Ranch

ranch
Our homestead is an eighty acre ranch where Kevin raises his cattle – Gelbvieh, Angus & Balancers. Balancer cattle are 25-75 % Gelbvieh with the balance Angus. Balancers combine the fertility, growth, muscle, and leanness of Gelbvieh with the maternal and marbling qualities of Angus.

If you would like to purchase pasture feed beef, contact us here.

Winchester Meat Processing is our local quality processing market.

The House
The place we call home.

Merle
The cattle herder and guardian of the home.

merle

Merle is a Blue Heeler. He definitely has chosen Kevin to bond with. This is extremely important; helps Kevin greatly when working the cattle. Merle is a protector for sure. Beware should you come to the house unannounced!
